I'm a San Francisco mixed media artist & former graphic designer. My pre-press cut+paste life evolved into bookbinding & paper collage. I now paint mixed media abstract compositions using collage & typography as under layers. Sanding down through acrylic paint reveals symbols & words.

I am process-oriented. There is no literal meaning or message to be read into my work. I use book pages, letterforms, grids, graffiti, asemic writing & mark-making. Unconcerned with making beautiful things, I prefer primitive, distressed textures over refinement. I lay down bold shapes & rough contrasts, most often with black as a dominant colour. I rely on intuition.
​Perfection is not my friend. If unsatisfied with results, I will destroy my work as easily as create it & begin again.​

I present my works unframed on gallery-profile canvas & wood panels. All my pictures are titled, signed & dated on the back.
